The five captains – sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles, redshirt junior running back Nate Carter, sixth-year graduate defensive lineman Maverick Hansen, sixth-year senior center Tanner Miller and fifth-year senior linebacker Jordan Turner – were voted by their teammates.
A four-year letterwinner, Hansen has played in 41 career games for the Spartans and is entering his sixth season wearing the Green and White in 2024. He has earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades four times and has already graduated with a degree in hospitality business.
Michigan State opens the 2024 season on Friday, Aug. 30 vs. Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. in Spartan Stadium. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
